Luna Appellation Series
Luna Appellation Series 2014 Chardonnay, Napa Valley
Blend: 100% Chardonnay
The 2014 Napa Valley Chardonnay is made with grapes from vineyards along the Napa River in the Oak Knoll District using both Dijon 95 and Wente clones. Fertile, but well drained soils with a morning fog layer provide perfect slow growing conditions for optimal Chardonnay flavor development. This wine was barrel fermented in 40% new French Oak with the remainder in neutral barrels. The wine experienced full malolactic fermentation and was aged sur lies for 15 months before being bottled in February, 2016.
Tasting Notes: Bursting with fresh notes of lemon and honey aromas, this 2014 Chardonnay hails from our Napa Valley estate vineyards. This delicately balanced wine plays on the palate with brisk tangerine and green apple notes that lead to a creamy toasted almond middle and a bright citrus note.
Luna Appellation Series 2012 Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
The 2012 Pinot Noir berries are grown in the heart of the Santa Rita Hills region, internationally known for its Pinot Noir specific terrain, soil and climate. With the cool Pacific air moderating the warm summer nights, grapes in this area in 2012 produced intense and full-bodied wines that retained their natural acidity. Harvest began in mid-September and the grapes were whole-cluster fermented for depth and complexity. This wine was aged in 50% new French oak and 50% neutral oak for 24 months.
Tasting Notes: A complex and forward wine that begins with red raspberry and cedar notes on the nose that lead to rich bramble berry flavors. The mid-palate is dense with flavors of rhubarb and white pepper. A touch of dry cocoa and vanilla, along with a bright red-fruit finish completes the flavor profile.
Luna Appellation Series 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petite Sirah
The 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the West Side of the renowned, St. Helena sub-appellation including both valley floor and hillside fruit. Petite Sirah from rocky river beds in Yountville was added to give layers of complexity and plush tannins. Grapes were harvested in October and fermented for 3 weeks at warm temperatures for optimal flavor and tannin extraction. The wine was pressed off skins and aged in 50% new French oak until bottling.
Tasting Notes: A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petite Sirah, this well-structured wine has enticing aromas of currents, violets and black cherry’s wrapped up in a cedar box. Complex on the palate, that begins with a hint of anise, and leads to juicy red berries touched with black pepper and finishing with supple tannins.
Luna Vineyards 2014 Pinot Grigio
Blend: Pinot Grigio 90%, Marsanne 8%, Rousanne 2%
The 2014 vintage was a perfect growing year due to idyllic weather conditions. The growing season was pleasantly warm, with no heat spikes or cold rainy days. This provided for even ripening which caused complex and balanced flavor development. Our Pinot Grigio is a blend of our established Napa Valley vineyards and other vineyard locations. In 2014 we added Marsanne to enhance and enliven the wine along with a small amount of Rousanne.
Tasting Notes: Consistent with past vintages, our Italian-style Pinot Grigio exhibits fresh aromas of lemon curd, citrus blossom and grapefruit flavors that continues on the palate. Our 2014 vintage has refreshingly brisk citrus notes, lively texture and good balance. With a clean and steely edge, this wine finishes with juicy acidity and bright, long finish.

Luna Vineyards 2015 Rosé
Blend: Sangiovese 100%
2015 was another excellent vintage across the state of California for wine production, despite an ongoing drought. These grapes were grown in the heart of Lodi, known for producing vibrant red berries. Picking in early August allowed us to retain the naturally-occurring acids in the grapes while benefiting from the exuberant red flavors for which the region is famous.
Tasting Notes: Made in the style of Provence dry rosés, Luna’s 2015 vintage is a deliciously refreshing wine. Gentle scents of strawberries and cream begin the journey that leads to the upfront flavors of framboise and watermelon. Rich notes of pomegranate and white tea round out the midpalate and the crisp finish has a gentle citrus kiss.
Luna Vineyards 2014 Rosé
Blend: Tempranillo: 50%, Syrah: 30%, Grenache: 10%, Pinot Grigio: 5%, Mouvrèdre: 2.5%, Cinsault: 2.5%
Our Rosé is a blend of six different varietals from several vineyard locations. The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the delicate fruit aromas and inhibit malolactic fermentation which helps retain natural grape acidity. Some lots were co-fermented in order to enhance the varietal blend and some varietals were kept separate until just before blending.
Tasting Notes: Our Provence-style dry Rosé begins with the delicate scent of rose petals followed by the juicy aromas of red berries. Fresh and fruity, a background of light black tea creates lively texture and a good balance to the multi-layered fruit. With a hint of strawberries and cream in the middle, this wine finishes with a crisp acidity and bright, long finish.

Luna Vineyards 2013 Sangiovese
Blend: Sangiovese 90%, Merlot 8%, Cabernet Sauvignon 2%
Our 2013 Sangiovese is sourced from vineyards throughout the Napa Valley. The 2013 harvest was characterized by ideal moderate-to-warm growing conditions and cool evenings. After completing fermentation in two weeks, the juice was drained from the tanks and the remaining must gently pressed straight into barrels. This wine was then barrel aged for fourteen months in 20% new French & Hungarian oak barrels with the remainder in neutral French Oak.
Tasting Notes: Our 2013 Napa Valley Sangiovese begins with the perfumed aromas of violets, sweet vanilla and a hint of white pepper. Big flavors of cherries and dark bramble berries begin the journey on the palate with a delicate Kalamata olive undertone leading to an elixir of bright red fruits. The dark chocolate tannins showcase the 2013 vintage and give a strong finish that make this wine very ageable. This wine will pair perfectly with a wide variety of pastas, pizzas, and gamey meats.
Luna Vineyards 2012 Sangiovese
Blend: Sangiovese 100%
Luna’s 2012 Sangiovese comes from our Oakville vineyard, selected for its Brunello clone and shallow, rocky soil. The 2012 harvest was characterized by ideal warm and moderate growing conditions. Barrel aged for fourteen months in twenty percent new French oak barrels with the remainder in neutral French Oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Perfumed with aromas of violets and caramel. The palate begins with a refreshing cherry cola entry, followed by white pepper and plums. The finish is rounded out with supple blackberries, hints of vanilla, and velvety tannins.
Luna Vineyards 2013 Merlot, Napa Valley
Blend: Merlot 90%, Petite Sirah 5%, Malbec 5%
Luna Merlot is sourced from two separate vineyards in the Rutherford and Oakville appellations, where Merlot grapes thrive in the clay and rocky soils of the Napa Valley. The 2013 season experienced warm days and cool nights throughout the valley, producing perfectly balanced grapes, picked at the peak of ripeness.
Tasting Notes: Our 2013 Napa Valley Merlot has dense and luxurious red fruit aromas with spicy notes. The raspberry flavor on the nose continues through the palate with notes of light chocolate and black tea. The bright acidity of pomegranate combined with a hint of dark cocoa are balanced with the fine grained tannins and Madagascar vanilla. Structure and elegance lead to a long finish that reflects the succulence of the Merlot varietal.
Luna Vineyards 2012 Merlot
Blend: Merlot 95%, Petite Sirah 5%
The 2012 Napa Valley Merlot is comprised from two separate vineyards in Rutherford and Oakville. The 2012 season experienced moderate temperatures which allowed for ideal growing conditions. Warm days and cool nights throughout the valley produced perfectly balanced grapes.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of cassis, baking spice, and black tea fill the glass. The flavor follows with red fruits and milk chocolate, kept in balance with fine grained and integrated tannins.

Luna Vineyards 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Petite Sirah 10%, Malbec 5%
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a prized collection of vineyards in California. The 2013 vintage experienced ideal growing conditions of warm days and cool nights. This developed sophisticated characteristics of condensed fruits and soft tannins.
Tasting Notes: This wine is an expression of a true Californian Cabernet Sauvignon, with fragrances of cassis, anise and dark fruits. Ripe blackberry fruit combines together with smooth acidity to create a long velvety finish. The wine has medium tannin structure that flows to slight clove and cinnamon spices and warm plum acidity.
Luna Vineyards 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Malbec 10%, Petite Sirah 2.5%, Petite Verdot 2.5%
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a prized collection of vineyards in California. The grapes were fermented for two weeks at warm temperatures and followed with extended maceration, extracting maximum ripe flavors and supple tannins. The wine was aged in oak barrels for eighteen months and then bottled in August 2014.
Tasting Notes: This wine is an expression of a true California Cabernet Sauvignon, with fragrances of blackberry, hazelnut and black olive. Juicy and ripe, with plum and blackberry fruits that combine together with smooth acidity to create a long finish. The wine has medium tannin structure that flows from sweet tobacco to slight clove and cinnamon spices. The black fruits combine with rich tannins to create a smooth, elegant texture with a lengthy finish.

aCRISP 2014 Chardonnay
Blend: Chardonnay 100%
aCRISP Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards in the cool climates of Northern California. The Chardonnay grapes were whole-cluster pressed, settled for juice clarity, and then barrel fermented. The wine went through the traditional Burgundian secondary malolactic fermentation and was then aged in a selection of neutral oak barrels for 12 months.
Tasting Notes: This bright and fresh 2014 Chardonnay has delicate aromas of summer apricots with a hint of warm honey. Bright lemon bursts on the palate, flowing to flavors of juicy pineapple with a touch of crème fraiche. The vibrant acidity has subtle layers of oak and Marcona almonds that lingers in the clean but lengthy finish.
aCRISP 2013 Chardonnay
Blend: Chardonnay 100%
The 2013 aCRISP Chardonnay was sourced from vineyards in the cooler climates of Northern California. The Chardonnay grapes were whole-cluster pressed, settled for juice clarity, and then barrel fermented. The juice then went through the traditional Burgundian secondary malo-lactic fermentation and was then aged in a selection of oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: The 2013 aCrisp Chardonnay has delicate aromas orange blossom and guava. Intense grilled pineapple greets the palate, accompanied by notes of orange zest. Butterscotch lingers in the lush finish.
Lunatic 2014 White Wine
Blend: Gewürztraminer 36%, Muscat Canelli 28%, Rousanne 25%, Viognier 11%
The 2014 Lunatic White is an Alsatian-style blend with an Italian twist, "Lunatic" style! Gewürztraminer is commonly found in the cooler growing region of Alsace along the French and German border and is noted for its intense aromatics.
Tasting Notes: This Gewürztraminer based blend begins with exotic fruits and fresh papaya with a touch of minerality. The essence of ripe mangos and star fruit continues on the front of the palate and then bursts wide open with the flavors of blood orange and kumquat, filling your mouth with succulent juiciness. This wine will pair well with a variety of summertime dishes and sunny days.
Lunatic 2013 White Wine
Blend: Gewürztraminer 33%, Malvasia 33%, Arneis 33%
The 2013 Lunatic White is an Alsatian style blend with an Italian twist. It has a solid structure which gives this blend a strong backbone to stand up to a variety of foods.
Tasting Notes: Intense lemongrass and fresh apricot fill the nose of the glass. It is a trifecta of Malvasia, Gewurztraminer, and Arneis, each providing a balancing force in the blend.

This wine is about innovation and discovery. Each varietal is treated individually, traditionally fermented, and barrel aged for 18 months. Sangiovese was chosen because of its vibrant blackberry character. Malbec and Petit Verdot were added to give complex savory attributes. Petite Sirah lends a soft, but strong tannin backbone. Alicante Bouschet imparts dense black fruits and baking spices.

Asylum 2014 Zinfandel
Blend: Zinfandel 90%, Petite Verdot 10%
The Lodi appellation is best known for its unique style of Zinfandel. Lodi’s microclimate of warm days and cool nights is a direct product of the region’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Similar to a Mediterranean climate, it provides a perfect setting for growing concentrated and lush grape clusters.
Tasting Notes: The 2014 Asylum Zinfandel exudes big vibrant tones of farm-fresh raspberries with an undertone of vanilla and cedar. Bright red fruits continue on the palate showcasing the Lodi region. Strong notes of bramble fruit, black tea and brown spices give this wine an elegant, yet powerful finish. Firm, smooth tannins with lush acidity integrate a lengthy finish.
Asylum 2012 Zinfandel
Blend: Zinfandel 92%, Carmenere 3%, Barbera 2.5%, Petite Sirah 2.5%
Lodi's Mediterranean climate delivers dark, concentrated berries. Blenders give this wine a unique depth. Fermented at warm temperatures for maximum fruit and color extraction. Aged in barrel.
Tasting Notes: The 2012 Asylum Zinfandel exudes vibrant colors of aubergine and dark raspberry. Dried red roses, allspice, coffee toasted walnuts and crushed cranberry resurrect your senses. Succulent blackberry, dark cranberry, dried underbrush and tobacco spill out of the glass. Firm, yet smooth integrated tannins with lush acidity are found on the lengthy finish.

Arnold Palmer 2014 Chardonnay
Blend: Chardonnay 100%
The 2014 Arnold Palmer Chardonnay is a vibrant wine whose grapes were located from vineyards in the cooler climates of California. Weather during the 2014 harvest provided ideal growing conditions in California and the harvest produced lush, yet perfectly balanced fruit. The Chardonnay grapes were whole-cluster pressed, settled for juice clarity, and then cold fermented in stainless steel. The wine was then blended in the late spring and bottled in August 2015.
Tasting Notes: The 2014 Arnold Palmer Chardonnay begins with a fresh burst of lemongrass and honeysuckle aromas, along with bright lemon zest. This wine has crisp green apple flavors leading to a toasty, creamy almond finish.
Arnold Palmer 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 100%
The 2013 Arnold Palmer Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a prized collection of vineyards in California. The 2013 vintage began with a warm, dry spring that brought early bud break, and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set under sunny skies. The 2013 vintage shows the sophisticated characteristics of old world growing conditions with lower alcohol and supple tannins. The wine was aged in oak barrels for 16 months and then bottled in March 2015.
Tasting Notes: The red raspberry color carries through to the nose with clove and caramel notes. On the palate, the bright red fruits combine with dark coco and smooth vanilla essence that ends with an elegant, palate-coating texture. The cedar and espresso flavors, along with bright fruit make this wine easy to pair with a wide range of dishes, especially Italian.
