Luna's 2016 Petit Verdot aims to represent the purest expression of this unique varietal. Traditionally used as a blender in Cabernet Sauvignon or Bordeaux blends, we believe it warrants its own time in the spotlight.
Grapes sourced for this wine came in large, luscious clusters with berries the color of ink. They were fermented with wild yeasts at warm temperatures to maximize flavor and color extraction. The wine aged in partially new French oak to round out the big berry flavors exhibiting mild notes of vanilla and layers of spicy depth. The Petit Verdot will age up to 20 years and pairs best with steak or a similar hearty and savory dish.
