The tasting room staff at Luna Vineyards was graciously welcomed by Jenn at Miner Family Winery on Friday morning. As Director of Retail Sales, Jenn, provided an amazing experience and a unique opportunity for two wineries to meet and exchange ideas.
Just north of Luna on the scenic Silverado Trail, Miner sits perched on a hill with Napa’s version of a front yard – rows of vines. Founded in 1998 by Dave and Emily Miner, this family-owned winery makes twenty-five boutique bottlings from some of California’s most acclaimed vineyard sites.
Of the wines we tried, my favorite was Emily’s Cabernet, named in remembrance of Mrs. Miner and a stellar example of a Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley.
After an amazing flight of wines – 2 whites and 5 reds, Jenn led us to the estate’s hillside cave where the room’s large Tuscan table was set for a private tasting. Bypassing the event area, we were led down the stairs to the wine cellar where barrels were stacked in rows upon rows. Grabbing a long pipette, Jenn poured a barrel sampling in each of our glasses – an amazing experience!
Thank you Miner Family Winery for hosting Luna ~ we look forward to having you next!
