Meet Luna Vineyards’ Winemaker!
NAPA VALLEY Starting this week, Luna Vineyards will open its doors to give the public the exciting opportunity to meet the man behind the magic – Mike Drash, Luna Vineyard’s very own winemaker. Drash will be hosting a pre-release tasting of the 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon just in time for the holidays.
What could be better than tasting this savory wine alongside the man who created it? Drash will be on hand to discuss the wine, answer questions and sign bottles for customers. To ensure all can participate in this special event, Drash will be available from 1:00 – 3:00 pm December 7th, 14th and 21st in the tasting room. He will also be there Saturday, December 15th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
The 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is composed primarily of grapes from a hilltop on Atlas Peak, with the balance of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes coming from a vineyard on the western-facing lower slope of Howell Mountain. With 2005 being a cooler growing year, resulting in a later harvest, the growing season benefited the grapes with a longer hang time prior to harvest. The wine was blended in January, 2007 with Merlot and Cabernet Franc and was finally bottled, unfined and unfiltered in June, 2007. It has already been awarded 91-93 Points by Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar.
