Thank you to all our guests who attended Luna’s first event of 2018, a romantic dinner in celebration of Valentine’s Day. This intimate evening began with a welcome reception of our 2013 Blanc de Noirs. The evening continued in the soft candlelit Reserve Room where individual tables were set for each pair.
Winemaker Shawna Miller made a surprise appearance and poured our newly bottled, unreleased 2017 Rosé of Sangiovese (such a delight). A toast followed as Chef Cristina Topham of Spread Catering set the stage for her exquisite menu. It was an incredible evening of delicious wines, culinary creations, and gathered loved wines. Our Valentine’s Dinner was an amazing start to our 2018 calendar of winery events – we hope to see you at the next one!
Luna Vineyards is extending a big thank you to all of our guests who joined us this past Sunday at our Wine Country Benefit in partnership with Free Flow Wines. Through ticket proceeds, silent auction bidding, and wine bottle purchases we have raised nearly $8,000 for the Northern California Wildfire Relief Effort! These proceeds will be donated to the Napa Valley Community Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting those who have lost homes, wineries, businesses, and livelihoods in the Napa and Sonoma County fires.
We certainly had a great time eating, drinking, and being merry for this wonderful cause. Luna Estate Chef Mercedes Stahlberger prepared a seasonal menu of wine-paired appetizers including truffle butter popcorn, goat cheese ratatouille tarts, and curried lamb meatballs. The party was serenaded by acoustic guitarist, Justin Brown, and guests had fun with playful holiday photo props.
Excitedly, Luna released our Howell Mountain wine series to the public during the event. Our 2014 Howell Mountain Merlot is now featured in our Reserve Tasting and our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon remains a special allotment to our wine club members.
Help Luna Vineyards get to a $10,000 donation by shopping our wines. 10% of each bottle sale will continue to be donated to the Napa Valley Community Foundation through the end of the year.

In honor of the inaugural vintage of our Bubbles Blanc de Noirs, Luna Vineyards hosted a celebratory cruise on Lake Tahoe on Saturday, September 9. Guests were greeted with a Govino flute of the newest addition to our wine collection. The Bubbles were paired with cheese and charcuterie, house-made ricotta and crostini, fig and blue cheese, and salmon pastries. We sailed around Lake Tahoe on a clear and calm day, enjoying the company of old and new friends. As a thank you for joining us on the cruise and for being among the first to try our new release, each guest was gifted a bottle of Blanc de Noirs to take home!
The Harvest Party is the largest celebration of the year for Luna Vineyards. This year’s party was our best one yet! Despite the heat, guests stayed cool with glasses of our Chablis-style stainless steel, Wente Chardonnay. Tip’s Tri Tip food trolley had a diverse lunch menu of our favorite comfort foods: macaroni and cheese, chili, sandwiches, and salad. Our Estate chef was passing around fun appetizers like grilled watermelon skewers with feta and salmon crudo. The day’s festivities includes barrel tastings from Winemaker, Shawna Miller, a cornhole tournament, live music from guitarist, Justin Brown, and wine country experiences raffle. Each guest left with one of the many delicious cupcake flavors from Sift Cupcakes. We cannot wait to start planning our Harvest Party for 2018 – see you then!
Our winemaker, Shawna Miller, hosted an intimate dinner for 30 lucky guests. Estate Chef Mercedes prepared a delicious five-course meal made with in season and many estate-grown ingredients. Each plate was thoughtfully paired with one of Shawna’s prized Luna wines, the highlight being a barrel sampling of our 2016 Sangiovese Classico.
